Putin is 100% bluffing when he implies he'd use nuclear weapons.
On who, Ukraine? He's got tens of thousands of his own troops there for one, for two he knows he himself and Russia would be subject to a nuclear response, which would make rubble out his own assets, wouldn't matter how much stolen loot he still had..........he's talking through his ass
Agreed. Results count and the results are both surprising and illuminating how far the corruption has rotted Mother Russia's heart.
It's been 9 days and the Russians have barely advanced outside of the areas they controlled before attacking Ukraine on February 24th.

Those who have watched the evolution—or rather the deterioration—of Russia’s military and the defense-industrial base that supports it are pointing out that the poor performance of Moscow’s forces has been a process unfolding for years now.
Today “Russia has no more Kalibr missiles left in strategic reserve,” said a Ukrainian defense enterprise director familiar with the program, “but that is not the end of their troubles. The guidance system, the seeker head and other critical modules [in the missile’s front end] contain about 60% imported electronic components. None of these will be available after the long list of sanctions being imposed on Russia now, so it is hard to see where any new missiles would ever come from.” [...]
The Kalibr is not the only program in trouble. One Ukrainian intelligence officer tells Breaking Defense that there are “numerous shortages of [Russian] weapon systems. The famous KBM plant in Tula and other factories controlled by longtime Putin allies the Rothenberg brothers are unable to physically fulfil orders for infantry weapons and ammunition.
“Weapons that are officially on the books and should be available for delivery to active-duty units are missing and the next production runs will be complete only in three to four months,” the officer said. Even that estimate assumes that the raw material inputs have not been pilfered as well and are still available—if not, the time frame could be considerably longer.
................the end result? Equipment that breaks down at its most basic level. Tires are failing on Russian vehicles. The Rothenbergs and other arms manufacturers pilfer; the steel-, iron-, and component-manufacturers pilfer; the plant managers pilfer; the employees pilfer; the unit commanders pilfer; the supply officers pilfer; the soldiers pilfer. It’s a wonderful grift. Everyone benefits. Well, except when war is called. Suddenly, all that equipment that was supposedly in the field turns out to have been an illusion, long sold off for Italian villas and bottles of vodka. That’s likely why we haven’t seen much of a Russian Air Force in action. I bet they can’t even get their birds in the air.

That is what they are for...threats. Otherwise, you do not need them. You cannot be sane and use them. The cost to yourself is far too steep and the bombs are way too good.
Trump used them as a threat after he was told over and over they cannot actually be used. He wondered why have them if you won't use them? MADD was above Trump's mental level.
They are moving slower than would be expected. Kyiv is 80 miles from the border, and it has been 8 days... So they are advancing at 10 miles a day. They are nearly unopposed, so why so slow?
Why hasn't Putin cut off Power & Water from Kyiv?
For some reason, they have been unable to get air and land forces into the area. It is not because Ukraine is a bigger country than Russia.
There may be a problem with maintenance, or may have been. It is possible the soldier do not want to move forward.

An army is a system. Not just a bunch of dumb jocks like most non-military types consider it to be. Like any effective team, it relies upon good training, good leadership and good logistical support. The Russian army seems to be suffering on all three fronts. The Ukrainians shooting their generals only adds to the chaos. LOL

And losing generals so early in the war, when the Russians are the much stronger force... There is something odd about this all.
Let me cut to the chase here. Putin wants a 'Buffer'. Wants 'Crimea'. Wants the 'Donbas'.
My view: Ukraine is cut in half, West Ukraine/East Ukraine. The Border being the Dnieper River.
Putin gets what he wants.
Kyiv, 80 miles from the Russian Border, ... pretty sure they can take that anytime they want to.
Putin has shattered the Russian economy with this bullshit. He's painted himself into a corner.. There is no win here for Putin. The only win for the Russian people is to take down Putin.
