Comey told lawmakers that Clinton sent and received three emails that bore small markings indicating some of the information was confidential, the lowest level of classification. None had headers indicating the emails contained classified information. He said he believed that Clinton may not have been aware of the what the small markings signified.

The State Department said later that the information should never have been marked confidential and attributed the markings to “human error.”
 
The archive was created nearly a year before the State Department contacted former secretaries of state and asked them to turn over any emails that they had sent using private accounts that pertained to official business.

A laptop filled with Hillary Clinton’s emails is missing, the FBI just revealed. It makes the stink around Hillary’s private account even worse.

A senior Clinton aide, Huma Abedin, told the FBI that the archive on the laptop and thumb drive were meant to be “a reference for the future production of a book,” according to the FBI report.

Another aide, however, said that the archive was set up after the email account of a Clinton confidante and longtime adviser, Sidney Blumenthal, was compromised by a Romanian hacker.

Whatever the rationale, the transfer of Clinton’s emails onto two new storage devices, one of which was shipped twice, created new opportunities for messages to be lost or exposed to people who weren’t authorized to see them, according to the FBI report.

I think you could flip a coin on whether Vlad is telling the truth lol. It's not like he would admit it if he did. And if he didn't the conspiracy theorists will just accuse him of lying.

Looking at it from his standpoint, Hillary and Obama have been awfully good to Vlad. So why would he want to roll the dice on an unknown variable like Trump? Doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

Or, Putin may just flat out not like Hillary. Easy enough to believe. They're doubtless oblivious to it, but Hillary and Obama demonstrated a kind of barely concealed arrogance to the world---especially Obama. Kind of like 'ok, the one everybody's been waiting on is finally here on the scene, let the world be healed'. Hillary with her goofy reset button. I can see that.

It's totally possible Putin has a little anti-elitist thing going and that's part of why he [maybe] released the emails.

Who knows.
 
If you believe someone like trumpf, it aint much of a stretch to believe someone like Putin.. :dunno:

Hey, there was a group of founders (Continental Army officers) that wanted to overthrow the Confederation Congress and make Washington a dictator (he refused, and famously dressed them down)!
 
Anyway, I'm sure it would be fun to give into Putin demagoguery, given that he's known to be a badass. But, I can never get over those journalists he had assassinated via radioactive poisoning. Clearly the man is evil, and desires to be a menace.
