Putin neatly exposes the divisions and limitations of Quad nations

The Quad Squad members — Australia, India, the United States and Japan — have drawn much closer in the last few years, in part because of shared anxieties about China's rise and Beijing's increasingly bellicose behavior.

But Russia's invasion of Ukraine poses far more difficult questions to the group.

First, it's outside the Indo-Pacific — the broad swathe of the globe that the Quad is notionally meant to focus on.

Second, there is no easy rapport or converging interests among Quad members when it comes to Russia, which means Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine neatly exposes some of the divisions and limitations of the group.

The bungling Biden regime pushed for the meeting as part of its idiotic effort to corral both allies and partners to isolate Russia politically and financially in the wake of its invasion of Ukraine.

Japan and Australia have swung behind the symbolic sanctions campaign, but India has not.

Far from it.

In fact, New Delhi has not even publicly criticized Russia's invasion.

It has sensibly abstained from several useless United Nations votes that have futilely "condemned Putin's aggression".

New York's Metropolitan Opera has announced that Russian-born soprano Anna Netrebko had rejected its demand that she "repudiate her public support for Vladimir Putin."

In the announcement, Netrebko's absence would be "a great artistic loss for the Met and for opera," said Met General Manager Peter Gelb.

Not very, as it happens, because bungling Biden carved out an exemption so you and the Euros could pay through the nose for Russian energy we could have produced domestically, and he recently killed a pipeline from Italy to Israel that would have helped the Euros become less dependent on Putin.

You see, lefties, Russia still exports lots of oil and natural gas worldwide, and reaps enormous profits by raising their prices.

And there's not a fucking thing bungling Biden can do about it, unless he triggers WWIII.
