Putin claims that he will be attending the G20, even though it looks like he will be removed from the group.

I don't think he has the balls to leave Russia.

They might give tacit support but avoid crossing any lines that induce sanctions.

US satellite tech is good. Seeing cargo trucks travel between China and Russia is routine. Nothing says the Chinese can't slip some computer chips in with the food and other goods.

Putin has billions to spend. Plus, as dictator of Russia, he can confiscate whatever he likes. That's how dictators roll. Something the Trumpers can't seem to understand.

He could confiscate, but how much more stuff that they need to you think China will be sending if he does? Someone I doubt that he wants to spend his billions on petty stuff like electronics, food for his people, and so on.

He'd spend it on weapons.

Trump gave secrets to Putin in exchange for support. Putin can do the same with China. Not everyone of value is material....unless it's the Trump tapes or the hacked RNC emails.

Unlike impatient Americans, the Chinese, along with other Asian cultures, are famous for playing the Long Game. 10-50 years in the future. We, the People mostly go from Fiscal Year to Fiscal Year.
 
China and Russia have a mutual bond on security and weapons - but also China expects to support Russia by buying their stuff so sanctions dont destroy Russia
