For Black people to "move forward" and explicitly trust white people is like a battered spouse returning to the abusive relationship and hoping for the best. One doesn't simply "stop hanging on" to centuries of inexplicable cruelty, evil, and violence; and it's offensive to tell Black people to get over it.

I don't buy that.

AFAIC it's just an excuse.

People have no logical reason to live their lives based on things that happened to their ancestors.

A couple of decades or so ago, I thought the same way you do. But now I feel that enough time has gone by and society has bent over backwards long enough that they should have made more progress than they have.

They've made some, but they should be further ahead than they are.

There is no reason related to slavery or Jim Crow or past segregation or the civil rights struggles of the 1960's, or anything else for them to blame anything on.

As for their relationship with the police, the police know that blacks are more prone to violence and resisting arrest with violence, so it stands to reason that they get dealt with differently. More cautiously with regards to their own safety.

Blacks have passed the tipping point where they are now in charge of their own destiny and it's past time to stop blaming whites and everyone else for things they should taking responsibility for themselves.

Stop dropping out of school. Stop joining gangs. Stop selling and using drugs. Stop committing crimes like robbery, car-jacking, murder, etc. Stop getting black women pregnant then leaving them to raise the kid by themselves.

It's past time for black people to admit that they have responsibilities too.

And it's past time for white, far left SJW progressives to stop making excuses for them.

Lastly, as the past five years have shown without any ambiguity whatsoever, racism is alive, well, and thriving in the US. The abuse hasn't ended, so it isn't possible to "move forward".

Anyone who thinks racism is ever going to go away is sadly naive and clueless as to human nature.

And anyone who thinks whites are the only racists are just blind.

But as to your point, of course there is racism but it has been exaggerated and blown out of proportion to the point that some whites cannot stop talking about it. It guides heir thinking on everything related to politics and society.

I wouldn't call either group supremacist. I don't believe that at their cores those movements view their members, active or passive, willing or unwilling, as superior to all others.
