Who is "they" and "accountable" for what?
Should they be held in small jail cells for more than a year awaiting charges and trials?
What attempt to take over the Government? There was no conspiracy to take it over. How do you take over a government as powerful as ours without weapons?
This isn't a serious issue. It's a fabricated made up HOAX. It's an attempt to demagogue a political party and weaponize the DOJ.
In normal times, the people who trespassed and damaged things would have already been tried and jailed for their MISDEMEANORS. Then the country would move on and unite in a common goal of prosperity and happiness.
But that isn't what the Democratic Party of Lying Jackasses want. They want to impugn 75 million voters and a past President in a massive purely partisan fabricated narrative. They are imprisoning people without due process or timely trials. They are selectively leaking things that, on the surface, appear damning but not illegal. They denied the minority chair his choices to sit on the panel. They've exempted the most responsible party for the police action, Pelosi, from the investigation. The only people who died that day were protestors. One of whom, was an UNARMED veteran shot in cold blood by a panicked, poorly trained police officer.
This is going to be seen for what it is. A sham. A clown show and not something to be taken seriously.
