Any objective observer can see the rioters were an obvious minority relative to the overall size of the rally.

But that’s been the Democrats problem for four years—and especially, through most of 2020. Trump supporters, as a group, just aren’t prone to violence. There were many Trump rallies where the vast majority were peaceful, except for some isolated incidences of the kind that can be expected any times tens of thousands of people are gathered.

To expect large rallies to be virtually idiot-free isn’t a realistic expectation.

In the meantime, lefties are raging right and left. Just over the summer their violence cost 25 lives, injured hundreds of cops—some of them seriously, caused over a billion dollars worth of damage mostly to *minority* businesses and property. They attacked local and *federal* government buildings. Torched the Capitol church and caused the SS to hustle Trump into a bunker [hows that for a little insurrection?]. Tore down monuments—not just of slave owners, but anyone [always white] they disagreed with.

It’s a fricking litany of political violence. Democrat leaders didn’t comment on it because—what could they say lol? At any rate, Democrats had a serious ‘contrast issue’ relative to the relatively peaceful Trumpers.

Until 1/6. Then finally, they had one and they were going to milk it for all it’s worth. Fences [that don’t work] go up. DC is locked down tighter than Baghdad in 2004—it’s literally occupied by our own forces. All to make a bullshit political point.

I try to make thread titles interesting - or just factual.
That was interesting but not factual. the premise is here was no other recourse since the courts wont hear and the media wont investigate - leading to the frustrated riots. not excusing them,but that's the motive -not to overthrow government
the bigger point even if you disagree with that, is that it was a bunch of hotheads, and not the Trumpsters in general
But "insurrection" is now bandied around to encompass all Trumpsters, which is a damn lie

There are plenty of examples of famous riots.

Why didn't you use one of them for a thread title, instead of using the world's most famous metaphor for revolution and insurrection?
