Let's call a spade a spade, shall we? The #resist crowd is hooked on any hype that shows up questioning Trump and his cabinet. I've seen a few stories die pretty quickly though (unless you follow trolls) due to the merits of them being ridiculous. Yesterday a faked twitter account made to look like Flynn's said something to the effect of "there were others", and one of the rags turned it into an article. The twitter crowd immediately questioned it and pointed out it was from a fake twitter account. There were still folks who believed it immediately and retweeted it. I didn't see it spread much further than that. The more people question the sources, the more accurate shit gets.

Unfortunately, the Trump crowd has been hyped up on the same kind of shit, and have been for years. The fact checking doesn't seem to be nearly as prevalent, and spreads much further.

Truth is, people will believe shit just because it agrees with their viewpoint, and not because it's backed by credibility. This is how infowars, naturalnews, breitbart, and all sorts of clueless cult-like media outlets spring up. If you think it's just the leftists that are hyping shit out of proportion, you probably are likely to be swayed by one of these cult like sites.

I agree with most of your opinion, DD....but sometimes the more people question the sources, the more in-accurate shit gets, too.

I've come to question the fact checkers .....I notice a definite, though subtle, liberal spin in their so-called fact checking....
Checks on liberals will get ratings like "partly true" or 'mostly true'
Checks on Conservatives get ratings like "partly false" or 'mostly false'
which in reality 'partly true' and 'partly false' mean exactly the same thing....its subtle, but its there....

or they will focus on some statistic....ie. 2 million dollars when it should be 3 million....and say the con. lied while the liberal 'mis-stated' the statistic.

they'll claim quotes from liberals are 'taken out of context' when the quote in question means exactly what it says no matter what context you put it in....

watch for it...

I agree there too. The key is to not look at the rating itself. Read past the headlines and check past the quick synopsis. Then, check the sources too. The one thing I see coming out of this political turmoil are people are taking it to heart that we need to fact check. I see a lot more people doing this now-a-days, including the media themselves. However, I also see people quickly dismissing things as #fakenews simply because they disagree with it. It seems like those who would easily fall for something as long as they believe it, are also the ones claiming everything they don't like is fake. They are still falling victim to ignorance at that point. There is a lot of work to do in getting truth and reality to beat out the propaganda.

Have you seen Trump's twitter? He's concerned more about Nordstrom in the middle of Security briefings. NK launches a missle, his mind may be wondering how he can make money on it. Though, I agree, to the normal person, you'd expect there to be a lot of chatter dealing with national security. Just wait for the evidence to surface.
