Donald Trump’s Border Wall Proves How Little He Knows About Mexican Immigration
Immigration from Mexico is actually on the decline.
Trump signed two executive orders Wednesday that call for the immediate construction of a wall and issue directives to crack down on unauthorized immigration, increase security at the southern border and expand agencies’ deportation powers.
The order describes building the wall as a measure “to prevent illegal immigration, drug and human trafficking, and acts of terrorism.” Prioritizing a wall ― with an estimated cost in the billions ― has been widely condemned by Latino groups and lawmakers as a discriminatory attack on immigrants.
Building a wall to keep Mexicans out is also out of touch with the current realities of unauthorized immigration. Since the recession, more undocumented Mexican immigrants are actually leaving the country than entering it, according to the Pew Research Center.
And as the Mexican economy has improved, the number of people attempting to illegally cross into the U.S. from Mexico has dropped dramatically over the last 15 years, according to Quartz:
As of 2014, the majority of the 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. are from Mexico, according to Pew’s population estimates, but their numbers have been declining.
At the same time, unauthorized immigration from other countries has risen, driven by people coming from Central America, Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Pew notes that many of the people from those regions are entering the country legally and overstaying their visas ― something a wall won’t prevent.

What stopping the flood of illegals over the southern border will do is allow a fair legal immigration systems. Legal immigrants from Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe will be allowed in once we ditch the 30 million illegals squatting within our borders.
It's not fair that those who have ready access to illegal entry get to enjoy the fruits of this country that those who wish to do so legally can not.
BS the 30 million illegals are not just from Mexico, you twat.
We'll be paying for the wall twice: first, through our federal taxes; second, through higher prices for goods imported from Mexico.

I will especially support it if we can find a way to get Mexico to pay for it, get immigrants to pay for it a second time....and increase the income taxes of liberals to pay for it a third time......actually if we could find a way to collect an excise tax on the nose candy liberals love so much we could probably make liberals and the wall higher at the same time.......

I heard his statement.....it's not a proposed 20% tax on American consumers.....he stated four or five possibilities......and I just came up with another.....taxing stoners and coke heads for the drugs they smuggle across the border.......tripling the cost of cocaine would probably pay for the west half by August......

You lack a basic understanding of the economy of Mexico. If they pay out 14 Billion dollars to something that does not grow their economy signifiganly they will face economic collapse. Something that would be bad for them and us.
Trump would be giving them two choices that would result in their destruction, and certainly not result in them actually paying.
