We are retirees on a fixed income -- pensions, investment income (not strictly fixed as we can change the amount whenever we want, but haven't for years), and social security benefits. Our income, thanks to the COLA of social security, has also risen faster than the rate of inflation. Wages for non-retirees have also risen faster than inflation.
