Trump's rhetoric isn't like some recontextualization like Harry Truman's plain midwesterner speak or even LBJ's colorful patois, no Trump's rhetoric is unceasing hatred and bile. The hypocrisy is off the scale.
I get it, Joe Biden didn't get 5 mansions by allowing anonymous, indirect taxes like tariffs to replace progressive income taxes. The tax code is the most lucrative product congress has to sell. But the sale of exemptions and deductions requires direct taxes, such as income tax. You can't sell Oligarchs like Tim Cook a deduction of tariffs - the tariff doesn't know who is paying it, fer christsakes.
