Trump is Putin's lapdog. He isn't doing shit other than admitting to protecting Russia.
I think the funniest part of this is that Trump seems genuinely shocked that Putin isn't just being his friend of friends. It's interesting to see when one psychopath, who only understands friendship as a transaction, runs up against another psychopath who only understands murdering his way to what he wants.
Unfortunately when psychopaths get mad at each other the rest of decent society usually has to pay the price and pick up the pieces.
If only Trump knew what well know: Putin doesn't respect him, Putin is playing him.
Have you ever seen video of people feeding bears in Yellowstone? Yeah, Trump thinking he's friends with Putin is like that. It's like watching a complete moron toying with a vicious, murderous blood-thirsty predator who has ZERO connection to people or what they care about.
(Don't mean to slag bears....I'm sure most bears have more common decency and humanity than Putin does).

Trying to guess why Trump does anything tends to be dangerous but I will go out on a limb and suspect that this outburst was caused by the Russians no longer being willing to talk to Trump and his minions whenever he wants to talk......it is reported that a couple of weeks ago Trump wanted to send Witkoff to talk to Putin and the Russians said there was nothing to talk about, and Trump is desperate for a in person meeting with Putin that never gets scheduled. The Russians (or the Chinese for that matter) dont do heads of state meetings without an agenda and a lot of pre meeting work from staff.....there has to be a reason for a meeting.
