There are no ground forces in place to occupy Iran, so unconditional surrender is not possible.

That is an incredibly stupid decision by Trump as it would place Iran on death grounds and they would fight like hell to protect their sovereignty with the full backing of the Iranian people. This would be repeating the same catastrophic mistakes Germany made against the Soviets and Imperial Japan made against China and the appalling loss of lives that occurred because they placed the Soviet Union and China on death grounds.

At one time diplomats negotiated to reach an agreement, but now it’s “a deal,” some just have to have melodrama in everything to understand it
And “a deal” will be gotten, and no matter how bad it is, how short it comes to attaining any of the war’s objectives, Trump will proclaim a great “deal,” “tremendous,” “winning,” and MAGA will believe him
