Florida is not the Nation, just in case you did not know that.

Florida is one of a few fascistic States where people want the Government to attack private citizen rights to speech and business rights, etc. For those people DeSantis is popular the more he attacks Free Speech rights and business rights they more they support him. Outside Florida that crap does not work with anything resembling a majority. That is why before DeSantis was too well known outside Florida you saw his favorability high. But the more he toured with his book and the more he spoke and shared his fascistic views, the quicker his favorability plummeted.


He got a wake up call. Just because being a fascist works in Florida does not mean it will work outside Florida.

This ignores the reality, it was a statewide election, not "gerrymandered", and folks are not registered as republicans at that level in that state. This means that DeSantis appeals to more than just republicans, even if you "really really really" don't like him he still appeals to more than just republicans. Pretending this was a gerrymandering thing is absurd. There is no "district" it is the entire state.

The Dems believe that Trump will be easy to beat (I agree with them on that, the evidence is overwhelming he lost to a basement dwelling dementia patient that wasn't even trying to campaign), so things like this are going to be LOVED by the Dems. They'll do or say anything to keep DeSantis away from the nomination, they know he appeals to more than republicans his 20% margin in the last election tells them that he does.
