President Trump Has Shamed The Office. We Need Somebody Who Upholds Family Values.

Hello Darth,

Democrats burnt the marital morality bridge back in the 90’s with Bill Clinton.

He was never re-elected—only because of term limits.

And the point is this: It is one thing to allow a President to remain in office after such indiscretions have surfaced. It is quite another to elect one after such indiscretions are made public.

But it was decided way back in the 90s with Bill Clinton and his mess that it didn't matter about a man's morality. Cheating Bill was still a great president. Lying Bill was still the greatest democrat president ever!

I don't give a damn about either Clinton's or Trump's dalliances.

What I care about is competence, which Trump has none of.
What I care about is corruption, which Trump is surrounded by and promotes.
What I care about is pathological lying on an unprecedented scale.
What I care about is good relations with our allies, which Trump has undermined like none other.

Trump has normalized lying on the right. It's standard fare these days. He has undermined our relationships with our allies and embarrassed the nation on the world stage. His administration, including his own family, is corrupt to the bone. He has demonstrated his contempt for the law and his own intelligence and justice agencies. His childish vindictiveness is frightening. He has zero intellectual curiosity and the maturity of a 12 year old. And a vocabulary to boot. A bully.

That's merely a start.

Hello tinfoil,

That was specifically part of the thread topic. And the moral equivalency I drew was between the excuses and the condemnation of the same behaviors by the same people. The media

Impeachment was not specifically part of the OP. The OP said we need him gone. It did not say how or when. As the author, I can tell you impeachment was not the point. That's why it wasn't mentioned. The point was that as far as family values are concerned, the nation would be better off without Trump than it is with him.

I don't think he should be impeached on grounds of being a poor leader for family values. There are a myriad of other reasons for that.

Hello tinfoil,

It only explains why some people don't.

It has always mattered to moral people.

No, I'm sorry, but many people were made to feel like that view was outdated by a media that pushed the "compartmentalize" meme. People didn't want to be un-hip! They needed to share the modern view.

They may have felt it mattered, but were afraid to be called a hater by the people in their life that supported Clinton, so the went along to get along. But the prevailing sentiment was that if you thought Bill's private life mattered, you were a just a hater.

He cheated on Melania.

He is unfit to serve in the role of our leader.

He is a bad leader.

He leads us into cheating and lying.

He has no morality.

We need him gone.

Whose family values? Mine? Gotta warn you, mine are pretty traditional, and you leftist rats have waged a war on traditional American family values for decades, and you have just about won that war. Furthermore, you guys don't really even have a true moral code. Oh, you pretend you do, "income inequality is immoral", "being against abortion is immoral", "being against gay marriage is immoral", "being against open borders is immoral", "being against free medical care is immoral", ad nauseam. And there is never a discussion about God when it comes to leftist morality, you ever notice that? Where do you guys get your moral authority? Fortune cookies? Yeah, I'm pretty much just trying to hang on long enough to enjoy a few years of retirement, then your entitled kids can have what's left of this utopia you are creating

Kirstjen Nielsen calls out Putin for Election Interference - Maybe it's time to Pull Her Security Clearance

Washington (CNN)Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen on Wednesday called out Russian President Vladimir Putin by name for interfering in the 2016 US election, calling it a "direct attack" on US democracy.

"At Vladimir Putin's direction, Moscow launched a brazen, multi-faceted influence campaign to undermine public faith in our democratic process and to distort our presidential election," Nielsen said at George Washington University in Washington. "Although no actual ballots were altered by this campaign, make no mistake: This was a direct attack on our democracy."

Nielsen continued that the administration "will not tolerate" such interference nor "let it happen again."

Nielsen has spoken out repeatedly on election interference but has faltered when asked directly whether the interference was designed to help President Donald Trump get elected. Nielsen has said she "agree(s) with the intel community's assessment, full stop," an assessment that concluded the interference was done with the intention of bolstering Trump and harming his opponent, Hillary Clinton, politically............................

I disagree. Sure, some on the left gave Clinton a free pass on immorality. That never made it OK. If they did that to preserve power for their side that has been eclipsed by ELECTING somebody we already knew was immoral. And the duplicity of claiming to not want Hillary because she did wrong, but to support Trump despite it, is thick.

Hello callinectes,

Whose family values? Mine? Gotta warn you, mine are pretty traditional, and you leftist rats have waged a war on traditional American family values for decades, and you have just about won that war. Furthermore, you guys don't really even have a true moral code. Oh, you pretend you do, "income inequality is immoral", "being against abortion is immoral", "being against gay marriage is immoral", "being against open borders is immoral", "being against free medical care is immoral", ad nauseam.

No, it has not been a war against family values. There has been no denigration of anyone for having high morals. It has been a battle for the freedom to choose how one wants to live. If you want to believe morality means monogamy and live up to that, the left never said that was wrong. Liberals don't advocate for abortion. They advocate for abortion right to choose. They never said everyone should be gay. They say if people want to be they should have the right.

And there is never a discussion about God when it comes to leftist morality, you ever notice that?

What does God have to do with morality? Morality existed a long time before Christianity. Morality is logical. God is not required. And sometimes religion clouds the issue. How effectively can the Catholic church argue morality when so many of their leaders are gay child molesters, and others are cover-up artists?

Where do you guys get your moral authority? Fortune cookies?

It is logical to be moral. Morality is what has produced human advancement. Humans have progressed by working together and caring for one another, not by lying cheating and stealing. If one is moral, one becomes part of the progress. If one is amoral, one detracts from progress. Any human who appreciates the progress made by humanity cannot locially claim to be part of it without being moral.

Yeah, I'm pretty much just trying to hang on long enough to enjoy a few years of retirement, then your entitled kids can have what's left of this utopia you are creating

I think most humans just want to live their lives, be a part of things, contribute what they can to society. It is rewarding to know you are a productive member of the greater community.
