Democratic Wave: Republicans Blown Out Tuesday

FAIRFAX, Va. ― The Democratic Party romped to victories across the country Tuesday, gaining key state legislative seats, two governorships and full control of the state government of New Jersey, where they’ll have wide power to enact their agenda

Vast majority of voters in Virginia and New Jersey said they cast their ballots ‘to show opposition to Trump’.

why would he be on suicide watch when a democrat wins in a democrat state? You're acting like you won georgia.

was obama on suicide watch in 2009 when the republican candidate won by 17pts? I remember Obama still winning virginia 3 years later.

why would trump be on suicide watch when the favorability of the democratic party has hit their lowest mark in 25 years?

why would he be on suicide watch when the democrats chances of doing better in the midterms literally evaporated and "Faded to insignificance" as of a couple of hours ago?

perhaps you don't actually understand politics, are are so desperate for a win, any win, you'll try to extrapolate anything you can?

Yup that sounds about right.

Trump is perfectly fine.

Sorry - a little too nonchalant. Maybe Dems are overplaying it, but you're severely underplaying it here.

VA isn't MA, or CA. This race should have been a nailbiter if a neutral figure was Prez.

VA has been trending blue for over 10 years now.

Ed's been behind the entire time. It's not like this is an upset.

I will grant it is impressive that the dems did so well for the virginia house.

But it's far too amateurish to really say this needs to have trump worried.

The democrats have plenty of problems of their own, as I pointed out. Lowest in 25 years. As much as cypress likes to trot out trumps poll numbers, he'd be remise to find that the democrat party literally shares the same popularity as "Drumpf"

And ABC just had a poll that democrats advantage for the midterms have slipped considerably since july.

Can you imagine the Party of Angry, Intolerant Old White Men (aka, "The GOP") electing a transgender person? What kind of freakishly upside-down universe would that be?

Democratic Wave Update (aka, "Blowout 2017") - The transgender community

It's one state legislative race, but transgender candidate Danica Roem's win for a House of Delegates seat in Virginia is huge symbolically. The Democrat defeated a social conservative icon in Del. Bob Marshall (R), a 26-year incumbent who once called himself Virginia's “chief homophobe.” And she did it by about 10 points. Oh, and in doing so, she*becomes the first openly transgender candidate elected to a state legislature in American history.

Ladies and gentlemen, the last Republican governor of New Jersey, probably in our lifetime.
A corrupt, fat fuck....totally just like Drumpf!

That has to be one of those old chairs, back in the day that were actually made in the USA...... No cheap Chinese knockoff could hold up under that....... GO USA!!! :D

You’re right, Trump isn’t worried, he doesn’t know anything about the system of government and how it works to be worried.

He only worries when he can’t find a McDonalds.

You held on to state governments in states that Clinton won, do you think that is impressive you poor delusional fucktard?

Lol these fucking morons are really excited to hold on to state governments that Hillary won in '16, so sad.

No matter how you try to spin this, from the local, county, and state level it was a massive win, and the majority of voters said this was a vote against Trump. Furthermore the number 1 voter issue was health care, and issue that republicans totally and completely screwed up.

It was a big win for Democrats up and down the ballot. There is no spin.

With regards to healthcare, the GOP has nobody to blame but themselves. When you try to walk in the middle of the road, you get run over.

I would argue that Gillespie was not a good candidate. He already lost once in a run for Governor and he was late to embrace the issues that put Trump over the top. The mistake all political parties make is to look at this like a football season and overreact one way or the other.

Nobody knows what will happen in 2018 yet and those who think they do today are political novices or fools.

I will say this. If the GOP Congress continues on its path of doing nothing on its core promises that they have made to their voters since 2010, then they will get wiped out in 2018. Now I maintain that asswipes like McCain, Flake and Corker want just that to happen. They would prefer losing so they can say "see we told you so"

Was McCain an as swipe when you voted for him for President?

I never voted for McCain for President. I never trusted the fucker during the Bush years. He solidified that lack of trust after I saw what his campaign did to Sarah Palin.

His brain tumor can't kill him soon enough for me.

Would you ever be expected to tell the truth

Scoreboard bitch scoreboard.

you kept a governorship you already had, you tied it up in a state House, and we retained control of the state Senate, and the fact that you think that this was some sort of massive victory just goes to show how bad of shape the DNC is in, you barely have a regional party.
