Perhaps because they're not as apt to launch one in our direction or in the direction of our friends? Just a guess here.

I know the U.S. is stupid about Israel and I disagree with our political philosophy concerning them, but to me there is still a glaring difference between them and N. Korea.....or Iran.......or (a number of countries) ....having nuclear capabilities.

I saw a poll where 93% of the participants disagreed with the U.S. getting rid of their nuclear weapons. Is that fair to other countries? I don't think so but that is a mindset that isn't apt to change in this country.

Yes but that POV about Israel having nukes not being a bad thing is our POV (USA), how about the rest of the world? Much of which is islamic. Christians do not only live in the USA either if you take the religious view, which I know you do friend.

Quite true. Maybe the islamic world doesn't say anything because they want to develop their own and destroy the evil-doers themselves. That statement is somewhat tongue-in-cheek.....the truth is I really don't know. I just know that I can understand the U.S. not outcrying about Israel but doing so about N. Korea. I understand but do not agree.

As to the religious view......well, I am an anomoly in that I don't think there is anything special about Israel. I believe that in 1948 a bunch of mis-guided religious (and pseudo-religious) folks tried to help God out and made a big mess of the whole deal and that's how we got to where we are today.
 
We owe it to humanity to take the lead and disarm. Peace-loving people everywhere will force theie own governments to follow our example.

Just like President Obama said, we have a moral obligation because we committed genocide with atom boms.

The Islamic world, as has the rest of the world, learned that shouting about Isreal is useless. No matter how egregous the offense, the US ain't going to do a damn thing about it. Israel is in violation of more UN Resolutions than any nation in history. What's the point of asking for another resolution?

What's the point of asking the US for balance or fairness?

There is no point, thus the Islamic world, as has the rest of the world, charted their own course without US approval.

We pay a heavy price for our ungodly support of the most hated nation on earth.

The use of nuclear weapons, therefore is a manifest infraction of international law."

No matter what Israel does or doesn't do, we must do the right thing.

I like you. You're an idealist with a good heart.

But it won't be that easy, nor should it be. We can no longer avoid the question of Israel in international affairs. How do you raise the question of proportionality in the Russia/Georgia conflict, but ignore it in Gaza.

Who should pay any attention to anyone who would take such a tact?

In spite of Obama's good words and intelligent approach to trying to mend fences with the rest of the world, he will not be completely successful by ignoring the question of Israel.
 
I don't know that he is ignoring it. I will support him because he is doing what should have been done 50 years ago.

What should be done is removing Israel off its artifical pedestal and making a determination of how much Israel is costing us.

That Obama will not do.
