In a race where Biden was the only horse in a field of donkeys, he won. Most of the time when he was in a race with Republicans and there was serious competition, he never made it to the starting gate so-to-speak. For example, he ran for President in 1988 and 2008 getting essentially zero support and won a total of just 2 candidates towards his party's nomination.

2020 was his third run and only a combination of the Chinese Disease--freeing him from a face-to-face on the road campaign--and a field of OMG losers hailing from the Left did he manage to get the nomination. Without Chinese Disease occurring, he likely would have lost to Trump in that election and did lose in 2024.

As a Senator he was in a safe seat that was reliably Democrat. All he had to do was not fuck up too badly and it was his for life.

But it doesn't change that the moment could have been rehearsed and scripted in advance, and likely was. They could have had multiple rehearsals prior to airing the episode. Hell, they might well do that with every episode.

trump has never gotten the majority of the popular vote. In the last 20 years, Republicans have not gotten the majority of the popular vote, while Democrats have gotten the majority of the popular vote the majority of the elections. In the last 36 years, Republicans have only gotten the majority of the popular vote once, while again Democrats have gotten the majority of the popular vote the majority of elections.

Wow, you consider trump a donkey... I cannot disagree with you on that. He defeated Sarah Palin, and Paul Ryan... OK I can see that. And Biden defeated a dozen Delaware Republicans... I do not know them well enough to judge them.

Yet, Trump's vote total was the second highest in US history just behind Biden's in 2020.
