I see nothing to change my mind that the CCP has no intention of invading the island, they intend to settle this problem through other means.

China is blowing it. They may start a war for no sane reason,
but if they threaten Taiwan, they must be chastised severely
and militarily, even if it results in the extinction of humanity, itself not the worst idea in the world.
Humanity does kind of suck right now.

They're refusal to accept the sovereignty of Taiwan is as absurd as the inverse.
They have commercial flights from one to the other, and still go through the ridiculous posturing,

The stupidity of people depresses me.
Do you know how much I'd LOVE to recognize Red State America as a different country?

It's difficult for me to say anything about China rattling it's sabres off the coast of Taiwan, when our navy does the same thing to intimidate N. Korea!

Granted, N. Korea deserves it and Taiwan doesn't. But anyway, it's good that our military can see how advanced China's Navy has become.

And this gives us an opportunity to see it in action.

This is quite a different problem and one that has been going on now for almost 75 years. The issue isn't just Taiwan. It is Japan's Senkaku Islands that China demands. It is China claiming territory all over the South China Sea with the intent to turn it into their private ocean, locking all others out. It is China holding Nepal.

What's going on in Taiwan isn't a local conflict, it is a regional one that threatens to turn into a world conflict. Unlike Ukraine, Taiwan has much deeper ties to world trade and economics. For example, half the world's semiconductors are made in Taiwan. There is no comparable impact Ukraine makes.

Ukraine was an integral part of Russia for almost 400 years under a wide range of governments. Taiwan, not so much. For most of Taiwan's history it was an independent nation or colonial possession (as Formosa) of a number of different nations. It has never been an integral part of China like Ukraine was with Russia.

That question should be posted in the Clinton apologizes for causing Ukraine war. And Obama and Biden have made a total mess of the Ukraine; turned much of the country to rubble and caused 100s of thousands of deaths.

350,000 Ukrainian deaths so far according to some estimates.....and the country is now largely destroyed.

Tellingly, you didn't answer my question.

But I'll answer yours. I'm not trying to deflect. It becomes a game w/ partisans, on both sides - I genuinely don't think it would matter what Biden did for either the Ukraine or Taiwan situations. The right would either say he's soft and a coward, or starting WWIII. Depending on which course he took.
 
The global depression that I had long expect would be here in the 2027-2033 timeframe is almost certainly here in 2023....and it will last for decades....Western idiocy has moved it up. This will help the CCP end the Taiwan problem.

Russia, as we now know, is pretty weak - though they have nukes. China really isn't.
