Tonight you will be taken out to dinner. You will eat everything and NOT ask what it is. If you do not like something, dont have any more. Try something else. If there are dumplings on the table, grab 'em, they are usually gorgeous.

They just took me to lunch. Started with duck liver. I quit asking after that. I think I have down my smiling on the outside while wanting to puke on the inside face while eating.

That's funny because in Thai no problem is mai pen rai or mai mee panha, the thing is though isn't "mei wen ti" pronounced more like "may wun chee"?

Ducks liver is lovely. Did you have duck's tongues as well? Mind the bones if you ever do. If you are given a choice of where to eat I suggest Shanghai food first, Beijing second, and if you like something hot and spicy either Szechuan food or the girly bars of Hong Kong. Don't ask for soup, it is usually crap and more like washing up water than anything edible. Good luck. How long will you stay?

Unfortunately only here through Monday night. I came here for an exhibition I'm working at this weekend in Hangzhou then taking the train to Shanghai Sunday night. I'll probably be coming back in the next couple of months though so looking forward to it.

You'll be wed to a Shanghainese gold digger before you know where you are. The Shanghainese are the prettiest girls in all china.
