The identity of the suspected Capitol police officer who fatally shot Ashli Babbitt on January 6 has been named by Babbitt’s family attorney. During an interview on Fox last month, attorney Terrell Roberts said he believed the shooter was the same officer who left his loaded handgun in a public restroom on Capitol Hill back in 2019. Reports identified that officer as Lieutenant Michael Byrd.

Looks like he should have been fired back in 2109 for leaving his gun in a bathroom

A U.S. Capitol Police lieutenant left his service weapon in a bathroom Monday night and the unattended gun was discovered later by another Capitol Police officer.

After the House adjourned on Monday, Lt. Mike Byrd left his Glock 22 in a bathroom in the Capitol Visitor Center complex, according to sources familiar with the incident.

Byrd addressed the incident at Tuesday morning’s officer roll call and, according to sources, told fellow officers that he “will be treated differently” because of his rank as a lieutenant. It was not clear what exactly the lieutenant meant by the comment.

Barney Fife would leave his gun in a bathroom...this guy should have been fired

Yep he has no business having a loaded gun

You guys are just the worst of humanity. It is all accusations and the comments include threats, racist innuendo, and more accusations.

All while defending a hero who turned on her country and participated in a violent attack on the United States Capitol.

It sucks she fell for trump's big lie. It is sad that she was killed. But the accusations and comments are anti-American. Just disgusting.

She was unarmed with a SWAT team 5 seconds behind her..that saw no need to shoot anyone!

This idiot cop that shot her doesn't even know how to care for his gun... or when to use it in deadly force situation. But the SWAT team knew

jade the asswipe thinks it's ok to gun down innocent women

What an idiot. She broke into the capital bldg. She was part of a group breaking down a door to the inner building. The cop warned them to leave or he would shoot. Babbit was in the top of those climbing over the broken lower half of the door. There were mo innocent people hurt or shot other than capitol cops. She was in the middle of a series of crimes she was committing.

Jade thinks it's ok to gun down an small unarmed woman who served her country in the military.

Why was Babbitt even there?

Did she have coffee and doughnuts in her backpack to serve the congressmen/woman?

The dumb bitch charged officers, she deserved to be shot, as several other traitors did too.

Why weren't "several others" shot? Why just one round fired as "several others" were rushing in?

They should have been shot.

Did you see anyone else attempt to jump through that window?

One round hitting it's target was all it took.

I didn't ask what you think should have been done.
I asked why only one round was fired if there was such a threat.
So, which was it, a window or a door?
Keep that "one round hitting it's target" in mind when you(?) have
the balls (LOL!) to come here and threaten MY constitutional rights.

Right, you wouldn't even hear the shot, moron.

You must have taken the advanced "constitutional law" correspondence course from Trump U.

YOU have no constitutional right to be in the capitol building, when it's closed to the public.
YOU have no constitutional right to breach police lines.
YOU have no constitutional right to disobey police.
You have no constitutional right to assault police.
YOU have no constitutional right to break federal property.

"One round fired"?
That's the one that did the trick of keeping the rest of the retards from trying the same thing.

It sure did, didn't it? Stupid fuck...

I’ve wondered that myself because it doesn’t make a lot of sense. Why was the unarmed woman considered the only threat that needed taken out?

Easy to get the idea someone might have been a little ‘trigger happy’ which goes along with being careless with their weapon.

But, they investigated it so all is well. I’m just thankful their races weren’t reversed.
