But you did. You said the onus was on them to prove the existence of what they freely admit is a faith. There is no need to prove such a thing, they aren't saying that it is a fact and not a faith issue. To state that it is a "fact" that God doesn't exist because of the lack of evidence is a statement of faith, they seek either proof of what you deem a "fact" or to stop claiming it is "more rational" and supported by evidence. Absence of evidence is not the same thing as evidence of absence. You may only be looking in the wrong place.

True, but we aren't getting that specific here. We are speaking of any deity.

That doesn't mean that such a deity doesn't exist. Again, the absence of evidence is not the same thing as evidence of absence.
