Popularity according to Republicans/conservatives!

Popularity is a strange thing when it comes to Republicans...

When President Clinton was popular it was a BAD THING, because he was just supporting popular stuf regardless if it was right or not, he was just blowing whitch ever way the wind blows...

When GWB, Jr. was unpopular it was a GOOD THING because he was being brave and doing the right thing, regardless of its popularity.

When President Obama was popular it was a BAD THING because he was being idolized and treated like the messiah.

When President Obama dropped a bit and was less popular it was a BAD THING because he is supporting unpopular legislation...

So we have no integrity among Republicans as they attempt to craft some cohesive rebuttal to the strength of President Obama!
 
Please will a rightie explain this dichotomy to me, I just cant get it stright if popularity is good or bad, or is it as simple as, its always bad if you are a (D) and always good if you are a (R).
