We are 4% of the world population, with 7% of the world's land, but get nearly 25% of the world's resources. Without the rest of the world, we very quickly lose a huge chunk of our living standard.
First, I just want to point out that the 25% number is a good thing, it's an indicator that we have a higher standard of living than 99% of those suppliers. Most countries want to use more recourses as soon as they can. Our business helps them achieve that reality.
When you flip your statement and consider the countries we 'rely' on actually heavily rely on us. We are the top customer, the most important buyer.
If you've ever been a salesman with a list of accounts, the U.S. would be by far the most important customer you've ever had. America drops of your account list and you're done, it's over, you just lost over 90% of your volume, screwed for sure.
So, who needs who? If you've been paying attention, Trump is doing everything in his power to change your equation. We need to get back to total energy independence as well as dramatically increase manufacturing, especially steel. Thank God we have a President that understands this.
Let me just say, I appreciate that you actually replied with a thought without cheap insults. For the record, I prefer this kind of discussion, rather than just slinging mud. So, thank you for that.
