Trump was kind of slick with this. For twenty minutes before his birther concession he trotted out some armed forces veterans in front of the media---on the heels of Hillary's deplorable faux pas.

And by conceding, he deflated the birther issue and contributed further to the softening of his image. Trump the Hitler-esque ogre is supposed to do no such thing.

Beyond that, it will be forgotten about by next week.
