poll:who was best Pres in your lifetime

Pew asked respondents to name the president who had done the best job in their lifetimes and combined their first and second responses. Obama was rated the best president with 31 percent and second choice by 13 percent, giving him a grand total of 44 percent.

Won't make those REAGAN people happy. I will live long enough to watch Reagan drop out of the top 10. That was a whole lot of REPUBLICAN concerted boosterism for well over a decade. I knew his status would drop long term but I didn't expect to see it this soon.

PS. It is NATIONAL Airport and until I die, it will always be National Airport. Period.

The question was who was the best President in your lifetime. Anyone 28 years old or younger wasn't alive when Reagan was President. Those in their mid to late 30's would have no memory of him. So basically this question was about three Presidents. Reagan will stand the test of time.

It is not even open to debate that he is the best president of our generation.

Not surprising that the competent and capable Bill Clinton came in second.

Though I gotta admit...the competition wasn't very stiff. George Dubya Bush, and some Orange-colored Reality TV entertainer hardly qualify as competition.

Yes on Clinton. Hell yes on W's incomptence, his sorry ass war of choice and tanking an economy, and that doesn't even include 9/11. Now we have gross incompetence coupled with gross NEGLIGENCE in the body of a narcissistic CROOK.

Pretty slim pickins.

I liked Obama the best - he was very flawed, but he was the most intelligent by a mile, and that at least gets high marks.

Clinton was probably the "best" in terms of success, and the nineties absolutely rocked overall. Just not that likable or really that smart.

I like Bush Sr. a lot better after the Republicans that followed. GW and Trump are definite low points. Reagan was charismatic and had good leadership qualities, but is consistently overrated.

History will also prove Reagan is overrated.

I agree with you 100 percent on Bedtime for Bonzo.

I actually think there has been a rightwing cottage industry dedicated to creating and maintaining a heroic mythology about Bonzo. A mythology that does not reflect reality.
