You do your own butchering too? I dunno. I had a hive when we lived in St. Louis. I used to cry when I took their honey away in late summer. They worked so hard for it, and inevitably some would get smooshed during the harvest. I'm too much of a wuss to keep chickens or goats or rabbits or other food critters. Definitely a healthier diet than "store meat," but not for me.

No. I use a production company in a nearby town.

I spent summers on my grandparents farm. Besides hunting, I had no problem turning a rooster into roast chicken. :)
My grandmother would scald it and I'd do the plucking.

Due to my wild flowers, lots of honeybees are seen collecting pollen. I have no idea where their hive is located but since this is a rural are and since bees can fly 1-2 miles, I suspect others might have a beehive. A few people in the area have orchards so it might be them.
