Poll, most Democrats wouldn't defend America

A new Quinnipiac poll shows that 52% of Democrats would rather leave the US than defend it if there was an invasion. Only 40% said they'd stay and fight as compared to 57% of Independents and 68% of Republicans. Among Blacks only 38% said they'd stay and fight, lower than the response from women at 43%.

Seems Democrats really don't give a fuck about their country...

I would not defend a country that embrace fascism or white supremacy, the kind of country Trump and his followers want?!!

I'm a liberal Democrat who served in the military (don't recommend because it's largely brainwashing) and even I would bail on this country. It's not that I want to, but right-wingers are tearing us apart so much that it seems hopeless. I lost faith in America when that neo-fascist Trump was elected, and when I saw his dumb minions storm the Capitol in an attempt to overturn an election -- the first time in US history that a presidential transfer of power wasn't peaceful -- I knew that we were beyond salvation.

Projection! that is all this is!

the unconscious transfer of one's own desires or emotions to another person.
"we protect the self by a number of defense mechanisms, including repression and projection"

Did you ever hear the truism, "Talk is cheap?" And we know well how cheap it is among Republicans, including those with bone spurs.

More to the point, according to the poll a significantly larger majority of Democrats than Republicans support banning Russian oil.

And a significantly larger portion of Democrats are willing to start WW 3 over Ukraine. Of course, they also don't expect to be the ones having to fight that war...

Right wingers like Gardner still will not condemn the attack on the Capitol by Trump's henchmen. Fuck that asshole.

I've stated repeatedly, that it was a three hour riot. Riots are always a bad thing. I condemn the riot. Does that make it clear? What you don't like is that I won't call it an "Insurrection" and portray the rioters as "Traitors."

Was the "riot" about anything? Just drunken louts?

Not really about anything. I wouldn't say "drunken" but just louts being louts. The ones that did get into the capitol building seemed to wander about aimlessly, the police often just standing next to them doing nothing. Except of course, for that one incompetent officer who criminally shot Ashlee Babbitt not following his training or federal use of force rules.

What would ole bone spurs do?

You suggesting they'll claim to have bone spurs?

Not particularly. They'll drag out the usual claims to avoid being drafted--Like Clinton did. Hell, these days most would probably use their medical marijuana card as proof they are physically unfit...

So, literally, they broke into the building for no reason. The day and actions of Congress were 100% irrelevant.

Neither you nor I are omniscient. Neither of us knows what any particular person in that crowd was thinking. It is clear that the vote to elect Biden was merely delayed not stopped and that the riot ended after about three hours, and not because of the Capitol police but rather the mob just wandering off.

Oh, wait a minute, the "riot" occurred and delayed the counting of the Electoral College. So, not about nothing.

Should we defend America if invaded?

Depends on who's invading. If it's Russia, we should just meet their conditions for peace. It's what some RWs expect the Ukrainians to do, and if it's good enough for Ukrainians, it's good enough for Americans.
Wrong! I'm RW and I support Ukraine. But I would point out that America is our country and Ukraine isn't.

Wrong! I'm RW and I support Ukraine.

Since when?

You didn't support them 2 years ago, so what changed?

You didn't even support them 2 weeks ago!

2 weeks ago, you were in agreement with Trump that Putin was a genius for invading Ukraine.
