well we have had filibuster for a very long time so not sure its fain to blame it.
rvW has been disputed from the start so thats opinion at best.

On the filibuster- All the filibuster does in today's equally divided country, is keep the minority in power!
Roe Vs. Wade was a band aid- that finally lost it's adhesive and fell off.
The Supreme court is just saying- Congress needs to decide if we want to federally make abortions legal or illegal.
I'm not sure that I disagree.
Once the country tried to ban alcohol- DIDN'T GO OVER VERY WELL- THE NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES BY FAR OUT-NUMBERED ANY POSITIVE THAT CAME FROM IT!
And as far as a WHY question- I have never heard one ASKED that wasn't properly answered by someone.

Let's assume the Democrats kill off the filibuster. Then, in November both houses of Congress flip to have significant Republican majorities. What will the Democrat reaction be to Republicans using their majority in the Senate to crush all sorts of Democrat things now that they are unrestrained by the filibuster that the Democrats removed?
I think the filibuster does what it was intended to do which is to say eliminate marginally popular legislation.
I like the RvW bandaid comparison but mainly it was the court writing legislation and its just not authorized to do that. I prefer to see this addressed at the state level given it's sensitivity. It just doesnt make sense nationally.
