Politics from the pulpit

I don't recall a provision in the Constitution guaranteeing "separation of union and state", do you?

Did you know Alexander Hamilton was a strong proponent of protecting the American worker against big business?

I apologize if you didn't understand the argument of the OP. it was not based on 1st amendment grounds. NOthing in the 1st amendment prohibits churches from participating in the political process. Of course using your argument Al Sharpton and Jessa Jackson should have never been allowed to run for president right?

This is where you scream RACISM

i don't recall a provision in the constitution guaranteeing separation of church and state. care to try again?

Personally, I favor taxing churches as businesses. Only funds that are earmarked for helping others (e.g. soup kitchens, shelters and the like) should be tax exempt. But it takes balls for a Democrat to raise this issue, considering liberal churches are just as (if not more) guilty than right-wing churches when it comes to politics from the pulpit.
I don't want either side doing it. Pay your taxes or stay out of government. How hard is that to follow? But using a test case to throw an election? This is voter fraud. Many pastors are quite capable of leading their flock.
