Police take back DC

Conservative

Repent, America!
Police removed bedding and most tents on Saturday at an "Occupy" protest site just blocks from the White House, enforcing a no-camping rule at a public square that has housed protesters for months.

Dozens of officers sealed off McPherson Square and moved in before dawn to enforce the no-camping regulation. Demonstrators have been in the square since early October to target the growing income gap, corporate greed and what they see as an unfair tax structure favoring the richest Americans.

By early afternoon, officers had briefly scuffled with chanting protesters as they moved to clear the square by sections.

Looks like the police removed many tents in violation of the law.
I wonder if there will be any consequence to the wrong actions by the police.
Somehow I doubt it.

right. see, some people on here believe that police are out to protect and serve them. to make sure they are safe and secure. so this belief prompts the lesser minded individuals to elevate police officers to a higher class of citizen, or an elite status. protected from any ramifications or punishments should they end up breaking the law.

Do you have anything at all, to support your assertion that the removals were in violation of the law?
Well, other then the OP of the left.

How do you see this as NOT an infringement of the first amendment right to peaceful assembly to redress the grievances of a government? Are you a closet communist?

Who said the couldn't assemble?
You're barking up the wrong tree and the hunt was over a long time ago.

What's wrong Rune?
Aren't you able to find anything to support your assertion, no matter how hard you search the internet?

My comments were based on the article presented. If you think reuters is not a valid source, that is your issue. I have better things to search the internet for.

Give me a fucking break. Liberals screamed about how terrible TEA Party protesters were, for even the slightest bit of seeming disruptions. Now you people call being- disorderly; violent; damaging property; breaking ordinance laws etc :first amendment rights- I say bullshit.

Bullshit on you. Ocupiers are the essence of free speech.
Packing a town hall meeting with paid shills is the opposite.

That's true. And the violence from the paid shills is the opposite of the peaceful demonstrations by the Occupiers.

Peaceful assembly doesn't give you the right to camp out where ever you want for however long you want.
