Police: 16-year-old girl dead after fight at high school

You said rarely happened. When and where did you grow up that you saw fights rarely happen?

The thread is about the death, not the fighting. There were many fights growing up and I was in plenty of them, but rarely was there serious injury and even less often, death.

How many deaths are there today from fights? We hear plenty of deaths from shootings of course but actual fights like this? I don't recall seeing any others. (not to say it's never happened but in today's society where news travels so fast we would probably hear about it if it happened)

More than when I grew up. What is your point here? That today's level of violence (not petty fights, but the savagery) is the same as it was 15 years ago? 20 years ago? Kids today video tape this stuff and get off on it. If you want to believe that it has always been this way, that is fine. It is just my opinion.

Overall crime numbers, especially murders, are way down from where they were 20 years ago. You're claiming thug culture and violent movies as if violence is something new. Kids videotape things today because the technology is available. I have no idea how old you are but I went to high school in the late '80's and early '90's and saw crazy sh*t go down. People just didn't have video recorders to film it.

We are talking high school fights resulting in death. Prove to me more kids died from fights (not guns) in high school back then and that it was less savage. I'm open to new ideas.
