Here is a thought, he had jumped bail for having attacked and tried to kill a police officer. Why was he out on bail for that? Bail is mostly based on money, so we are letting some very violent people out of jail, just because they have money. Does he look like a stock broker? A medical doctor?

Where did the money come from? My guess drugs... And the drugs he would have to take to try to strangle a police officer must be very extreme.
