Buttzy says in 2018 the Trump DOT cancelled a rule re brakes on trains carrying dangerous chemicals. I doubt that's true but even if it is, Pervert Pete and Pedo Joe have had 2 years to reinstate the rule and didn't.

feb 15 2023 Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg shifted part of the blame for the recent derailment of a train carrying toxic chemicals in Ohio on the Trump administration reversing a little-known safety rule.

Buttigieg noted Tuesday evening that his agency had taken a series of steps to improve rail safety through "historic investments," but said it was constrained by the Trump administration action. In 2018, the Department of Transportation (DOT) withdrew a rule proposed three years earlier requiring trains carrying certain dangerous chemicals to utilize electronically controlled pneumatic (ECP) brakes, saying the technology's benefits were inconclusive.

"In the wake of the East Palestine derailment and its impact on hundreds of residents, we’re seeing lots of newfound or renewed (and welcome) interest in our work on rail safety, so I wanted to share more about what we’ve been doing in this area," Buttigieg tweeted.

If not for Trump, this train would have had an emergency braking system. But Trump decided that was too much regulation. And you all agreed with him.

This tread is so typical of MAGA threads, it starts out criticizing Buttigieg for something he said, and when shown what he said wasn’t totally wrong, the thread quickly descends into personal attacks on the person away and from the busted “point” of the topic post

It is the exact same scenario that pretty much plays out in all Murdoch entities, not the content that is important, but how it is reframed and presented, the MAGA are just copying what they have been taught
 
Yeah, and the EPA takes a "sample of air" and says everything is fine. Meanwhile folks' fowl (chickens) and other animals are dying, the creeks are filled with dead fish and frogs, you throw a rock in and you get the oil shimmer kicked up from the bottom of the creek. Biden is refusing to send relief funds, the company that owns the train is promising to spend a "whopping" $20,000 (yes, $20k) on the cleanup and folks that will not visit have told folks it is okay to drink the water, which is supplied by the creek with the dead fish and oil shimmer...

that is fucking bullshit, railcars carrying hazardous waste are inspected monthly and held out of the fleet if faulty, Democrats are the lyingest group of people in the United States

LOL. The rule that Trump addressed was for trains carrying different stuff. This is Brandon misinformation spread by idiots with talking points emails who want you to ignore that the pResident is endangering Americans while sending hundreds of billions to the country that had their cronies pay his son $shittons (which we read the "big guy" seems to get 10%).

Don't get me wrong. Ukraine should have our help, even with Brandon's family selling access they don't deserve to be ignored, it just shouldn't be to the detriment of Americans who are so obviously being treated to a poop sandwich by this Administration.

But hey, if the mayor of East Palestine buys some "art" for $500,000 maybe they'll get some help.
