All we have is the word of the driver who has a vested interest in not admitting he violated his contract or possibly broke the law. We have no statement from Penske on this issue.

You can disagree all you want to. For good or bad it’s the reality we live in. Most of the major wars that cost hundreds of millions of lives were caused largely by access or lack there of for the need for market resources, such as, energy, food, raw materials and open markets for the free trade of goods and services.

Since post WWII, and the death of colonialism and the global interdependence on free trade, we have seen a global drop in death by wars and famine drop to historical lows when the human population has grown to its largest. The international global trade phenomenon due largely to advances in technology and hard lessons learned are primarily responsible for this era of unprecedented global peace we’ve witnessed in the last 75+ years.

So your dreams of that going away are simply delusional. It’s not going to happen as we in the US are just as dependent or even more so, as the rest of the world.

Has this created large problems we struggle with? Yes. Has it provided us many advantages that outweigh the disadvantages? Absolutely it has. The vast reduction in major wars and the death and destruction that resulted from them alone provides as superior advantage to the global economy.

That ain’t going to change any time soon and life around the world has dramatically changed the standards of living and quality of life for billions of people when it had not existed before.

So you can try to turn the clock back but you’d be waisting your time. Cause if you want to start a world war where millions die just place extreme limits to international trade so that we go back to a handful of wealthy nations dominating global trade as was the case in the first half of the 20th century.

I think the 'gofundme' was an after thought, but that's just an opinion. What annoys me is that all the fringe right wing wonks and racist rummies are going to latch onto this like the social parasites they are.
 
Why don't our resident racist/bigoted MAGA minions post the actual Penske contract form they are so hyped about. I mean, if they are claiming that Penske has no legal right to do what they did, then it should be easy enough to prove.

Yet you and I, dear readers, know that these intellectually dishonest and dim MAGA minions can't/won't do that, as facts and logic can be like sunlight to a vampire for them.

I mean, for YEARS the MAGA minions squawked about the "rights" of the private sector to do whatever the hell they please without state/federal oversight or regulation. Trumpers, at heart, are socialists. National Socialists, but still socialists. They think that the renter, after paying for the truck and laying down a deposit should be able to wreck it, get it impounded or do whatever the fuck he wants with it regardless of contracts or the law.

Apropos: I remember when I was in school, and a professor of economics enlightened the class by explaining that when OPEC raised or lowered prices via production, Exxon, Shell and the like had a seat at that tabled and agreed on those measures. Seems nearly 40 years later (ouch, I'm an old duffer) we STILL have a general population that isn't aware of this.

Investors want freedom to invest how they want without taxation. They don't believe the govt. should be meddling in their business.

Until there is a catastrophe, and then the govt. should bail them out.

Privatized profits, socialized losses as it were.
