I didn't say that a photo ID established citizenship. That's why I included a birth certificate. I didn't say that birth certificates be required for only one race. You appear to have a habit of attempting to put words in other people's mouths. It doesn't work very well., does it?

Democrats sue when a photo ID is required and they surely don't want a birth certificate though both were required when I renewed my driver's license.

That seems to be what some of these people ARE saying...that Pelosi must agree to Trump's terms or she is not "negotiating."

That is absurd.

But the underlying fact is that the government should be re-opened.

The negotiations about the fence should be divorced from that facet.

Open the government...and then negotiate what will or will not be paid for with taxpayers' money.

My guess is that "THE WALL"...that thing that Trump smirked about during his campaign and which he said Mexico would pay for...WILL NEVER BE BUILT. They can negotiate from here to hell and back...and THAT wall is not going to be built.

The negotiations may provide more money for border security (makes sense) which may include more barriers and repair of walls needing repairs...

...but that should be done AFTER re-opening the government.

Dont know where you live, but in the two states I have lived in a birth certificate for a drivers license has never been requested. Why would you possibly need one since your records are already on file.

When I registered to vote I signed the registration form, that is compared to my signature in the polling place when I come to vote. Why isn't a signature verification sufficient?

It doesn't prove citizenship. My wife had to obtain a new birth certificate from P.R. (the Vital Records Dept there was corrupted and all of their citizens there and here had to apply for new birth certificates. See, you learned something.

If you are renewing a drivers license you have already proven citizenship.
