Pelosi ‘I’ve Always Been Reluctant’ on Impeaching Trump Standing Next to M. Waters

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) said Friday she had "always been reluctant" about calls to impeach President Donald Trump while standing next to Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.), who has frequently said Trump should be impeached.

"We need to follow the facts, and what did the rest of the family know and when did they know it?" Pelosi said. "I've always been reluctant, because I think impeachment is something that really has an impact on the country. So when the facts are clear—the law is certainly clear—when the facts are clear, then this Congress will make a decision in that regard."

Waters, standing behind her, has become a progressive darling thanks to her constant calls for Trump to be impeached and quips about the "Kremlin clan."

During a press briefing about the ongoing Russia investigation and the latest on Donald Trump Jr.'s meeting with a Russian lawyer last summer, Pelosi was asked if the new evidence in the story made her likelier to support impeachment.

"I think the facts will be self-evident," she said. "Maybe they will be exculpatory of the president. Maybe they will not. But there is evidence, clear evidence that we need to know more, and we should not close that path."

Pelosi called Thursday for an outside commission to investigate the "cold, hard evidence" that the Trump campaign intended to collude with the Kremlin, based on Trump Jr.'s meeting with the lawyer and his understanding that he would receive useful information about Hillary Clinton.

On Friday, NBC reported a fifth person who once served as a Soviet counter intelligence officer was also at the meeting.

Pelosi read off a list of charges that she said may have been committed by Trump Jr. and other members of the campaign. These included "conspiracy with respect to espionage."

Democratic Reps. Brad Sherman (D., Calif.) and Al Green (D., Texas) introduced an article of impeachment against Trump for obstruction of justice on Wednesday. With Republicans in control of the House, however, the measure is unlikely to gain any traction.

Waters Impeachment talk has been mainstreamed into the Democratic party.."reluctant" or not

Let them run with it.

The longer democrats chase their tails on DAH Russians the longer they ignore their own problems.

But that's it: it's D.C., the media and the Blue precincts. Nobody else gives a crap. Millions and millions of people outside of D.C. just don't care.

They want to see results. It's frustrating congressional republicans can't get their act together because Trump's agenda is basically sound. It's oriented towards jobs, immigration control, energy dominance---those are really good results.

the heart of the matter (aside from the fact i want things done, not just the optics)
is that the Dems will lay the blame at the feet of the Trump "being unable to pass his agenda with a majority Congress"

I'm not sure if people understand the split between the #neverTrumps ( establishment) and regular Republicans who back their party's president..

So much noise!...i'm worried people can't cut thru it and will just say "he didn't get it done"

PS. Waters dubs the Trumps the "Criminal Klan"

I don't think you have any credibility to whine about impeachment, unless you can show threads you started calling out Mike Flynn for leading the RNc in chanting "Lock Her Up", or denouncing the wingnuts who paraded manequins of orange jump suit clad Hillary Clinton in a cage.

Clinton dodged a bullet by the "intent" deflection by Comey-
when she clearly violated the Espionage Act's "gross negligence " section ( that does not require intent)

Also campaign rhetoric is not calls for Impeachment..*once again you see fit to tell me what I should say*.

What's your comment on Pelosi's "conspiracy with respect to espionage."
Or Waters "criminal klan" ?

hmmmmm?

It's hard to know what 'the people' understand, but it seems plenty apparent The Resistance and the Never Trump Rumpers have teamed up to block Trump's agenda.

One would think even a casual observer would pick up on that. That's why I think democrats are on thin ice with independents over all this. And democrats are going to need independents. It's been demonstrated they can't win with the Obama coalition---unless Obama is included in it lol.

I think they're making a grave miscalculation by going all-in with this Russian business and The Resistance [obstruction on steroids], more generally.

How have the #nevertrump people blocked his agenda?

How have the #nevertrump people blocked his agenda?

Just today, Krauthammer abandoned logic to side with The Resistance in denouncing Junior's almost nearly Russian collusion lol. [Shep Smith said there may have been eight people there at the meeting!]

John McCain is helping democrats to sabotage any chance of Russian 'reset' and/or progress in Syria. I could go on.

How's that sabtoging his agenda though? Obama had people to the left of him complaining he was too corporate and not liberal enough. George W had some conservatives complaining about his overspending.

Being a Republican or conservative doesn't mean one has to agree with everything the President does. And if Trump, or anyone, can't handle adversity or criticism they shouldn't be a leader let alone President

And I don't even know what his agenda is anymore. When he first took office I'd listen to all these real estate podcasts that talked about we had one of our own in the White House and all the things he was going to do. He hasn't done jack.

Instead of tweeting about the cable news shows how about tweeting about tax reform and deregulation? Not sexy I know but what's the point of having a business guy in office is this is what we get?

gotta do HCare. If that stalls nothing will get passed. The craven spineless Republicans won't even back their own plays

Your boy's tweets have caused more confusion, disarray and damage to his own party than any other single issue.
uh huh..Tweeting has caused Susan Collins to say she wants to reform the ACA, McCain to say "the Dem's should be included on HC reform" and Rand Paul to decry replace and repeal as "Obamalite"
