Pelosi announcement: Its official. Articles of impeachment being drafted.

lol....thanks for proving your illiteracy........I did not ask if there was ever president that didn't ignore at least one congressional subpoena..........I said has there ever been a presidency........I am specifically referring to an administration.......during the four or eight years of the terms of every president that I can remember congress has attempted to subpoena someone in the administration and the president has directed that person to refuses.......

if that is the basis for impeachment every president at least since the beginning of the 20th Century should have been impeached......

Listen you pathetic idiot, if you bothered to read my post, it said that the President directed his staff to ignore subpoenas. That has never happened before.

no......the only way they can enforce a subpoena is to ask the judicial branch to do it........since they did not apply to the courts to enforce the subpoena (knowing it would not do so unless the House voted) they cannot sustain a case of contempt or obstruction.......the executive branch ignored no court orders......

Indeed.

exactly, democrats are acting like amateurs

Trump is playing chess , they are playing checkers

They have the power to incarcerate.

Its always best to read an article before posting it. here is an excerpt from YOURS:

Congress has three formal methods by which it can combat non-compliance with a duly issued subpoena. Each of these methods invokes the authority of a separate branch of government. First, the long dormant inherent contempt power permits Congress to rely on its own constitutional authority to detain and imprison a contemnor until the individual complies with congressional demands. Second, the criminal contempt statute permits Congress to certify a contempt citation to the executive branch for the criminal prosecution of the contemnor. Finally, Congress may rely on the judicial branch to enforce a congressional subpoena. Under this procedure, Congress may seek a civil judgment from a federal court declaring that the individual in question is legally obligated to comply with the congressional subpoena.

Do you not see Congressional power plus a co equal branch of government involved in the above?

The salient part:
“But if the executive branch is not inclined to prosecute a contemnor (the contemnor is a person or entity who is guilty of contempt before a judicial or legislative body), Congress will have a difficult time implementing such a penalty.”

If it passes with no republican votes and some democrats defect that equals bipartisan opposition.

And it’s not like it gets better from there.

There was already bipartisan opposition to their show trial remember? They didn't get one GOP vote and two democrats defected. So far both of those have said they would vote against impeachment but they leave the caveat of "unless something new comes out"
