House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) vowed there will be no deal to head off the coming “fiscal cliff” that does not include raising tax rates on the wealthy.
Pelosi said she’s optimistic a deal can be reached but won’t agree to merely closing tax loopholes or capping deductions without raising taxes on top earners.



Shes made it very clear that there will be no negotiating with Republicans, they will get their way, or else.....screw the country ......
They will rule like tyrants and dictators.....like the despots they are.......
It will be their way or no way.......

No surprise to me.....thats exactly what the first 4 years were like, then they, with full co-operation of the msm, blame Republicans for being stringent...

No deal unless Bush Taxes (which were temporary) are allowed to lapse...that's right. She also said the pugs should bring a tax deal to the floor to extend middle class tax cuts...which would pass. What are you afraid of?

NUMEROUS TIMES over the past 4 years Congressional Righties DEMANDED tax increases be taken off the table of there'd be no deal. And every single time Democrats went along.

But of course everyone already expects a partisan hack like bravo to ignore the facts right in front of him.

She won 84% of the vote in our district and believe it or not some people here feel she is too conservative. She is the top fundraiser in the House (and maybe all of Congress) for Democrats. No House Democrat is going to challenge her. Her power is secure. If you believe her daughter this will be her last term in office. She is going to want to go out with a bang and that does not include negotiating or compromising with Republicans. Now obviously on a party line vote she (and the Democrats) would lose but I have no doubt she will hold a hard line.

When you are negotiating in the media, as both sides are now, you don't just give up your position. Ask the Democrats who are still upset with Obama for taking single-payer off the table before negotiations even started.

Republicans may agree to tax increases but they aren't going to say that now while both sides are negotiating in the media. It's not all that different than what Pelosi is doing.

right...so you're just changing parties. i still don't understand how saying you're not going to negotiate, means you're not giving up your position, when the position - not negotiating - has been made. the politicians from both parties could have simply said, we are willing to negotiate, and that would not have given up their positions.

also, i don't think anyone's position is a secret. thus, saying anything will not give up their respective positions.

Bush tax legislation was meant to expire and Obama prevented that.....HE now owns the tax rates in effect.....
Bush is long gone and has nothing to do with todays taxes.....
The tax rates and tax laws and regulations in effect are inadequate for todays economy....they for inadequate for the economy since 2010 and Obama with the Democrats did nothing.....

Republicans will bring a tax package our of the House .....Then Obama will say NO, demand they accept his edict, then blame the Republicans for obstructing his
proposals when nothing gets passed....look for 'rule by decree' like any other dictator would do.....without negotiation ala Obamacare...

Considering I have seen the republican followers on here declare that nothing at all will pass thru the House, effectively damaging the nation so they can win in 2016, and the rest crowing about secession, Nancy's comments seem pretty tame.

Fiscal cliff = fear mongering.

We're all running full speed off of the real cliff, and most of us are ignoring that. Including almost all of our politicians.

I have such a disdain for most people. I suppose it shows.
