Pee in a cup to get unimployment?

Yeah like any tax cuts my employer got he passed on into my check

Man that was weak.
Or delusional.

that's not even in the same category.

what a business pays in taxes in your name is money you would have gotten paid. Your employer has to take that money and use it to pay for YOU

Totally flaccid there tin.

Try again.

While you can't prove that a company would pay you money they spend on you that isn't part of your salary, we do know that if they didn't want to assume that cost, they simply wouldn't hire the employee.

If the percentage they pay for unemployment insurance (which by the way is subsidized by tax credits) was onerous to them, they would just reduce the salary by that percentage. That's still money that's earmarked to that employee. It's money they are willing to spend on the person they're hiring.

It's hard to say whether it would or it wouldn't end up in your paycheck without a mandate, but it is a sure thing that they've determined that you being hired is worth the amount they are paying.

Yes unimployment insurance is part of the loaded labor rate.

KY reduced their unimployment ins rate under Bush and our Republican governor. I did no hear of or see any pay rases attributed to that reduction.
btw they are regretting the hell out of reducing it now and having to borrow money from the ferds to meet their obligations on basic unemployment not just for the extensions.

I think that in the current environment anyone that anyone who thinks a cut that an employer pays in unimployment insurance premiums would result in any pay raises for the rank and file workers is delusional.

A bonus for executives perhaps...

these nazi republicans are making me sick. People pay taxes for unemployment insurance. Screw testing for what is already legally yours.
Note to republicans, if you don't want to get another serious asshammering ditch the war on drugs.

dude, i've been in the workplace for twenty years and i've never seen a UI tax withholding on any of my paychecks. how can you say that it's legally theirs if they aren't paying it?

You just make strawman arguments. No body ever said anything like that.

If the employer did not have to pay additional taxes in the name of the employee, the amount they would be able to pay employees would increase. It's simple common sense. You are being deliberately stupid here.

(CNN) -- If Craig Blair gets his way, anyone filing for unemployment or food stamps must show that they are drug-free. He's a state lawmaker in West Virginia who has introduced a bill to require random drug testing for benefits and lays out his case on a Web site called notwithmytaxdollars.com.
Craig Blair says unemployment, designed to get people back to work, is impossible if the recipient uses drugs.

Craig Blair says unemployment, designed to get people back to work, is impossible if the recipient uses drugs.

Blair and his supporters say drug use is rampant and taxpayers are growing alarmed with how the government is spending their money.

"The message that we're trying to send is, first of all, we need to respect taxpayers and how their monies are spent," the Republican said. "And drug addiction is in epidemic proportions, and not only in West Virginia but throughout the United States."

His bill would require random drug testing for any government assistance: welfare, jobless benefits or food stamps.

Someone who failed the drug test would get the benefits and 60 days to clean up. If he failed the next test, he would lose benefits for two years.

If it's "legally yours", then how come it can be denied??
By the way, you only pay taxes if you receive payments from it.

I'm filing a formal protest to Damo here for correcting the spelling of "unimployment" in this thread title. It was delicious irony and Damo ruined it.
