There is this thing called Congress that people forget about. Presidential candidates can promise the moon, but nothing is done without Congress, except through executive orders and Obama has been criticized heavily for using them.

Obama uses EO's because Congress won't do it his way. He said so. The one issued on immigration was something Obama himself said multiple times he didn't have the authority to do then did it.

Paul Ryan is not the party. The Republicans in congress aren't exactly very popular among the Republican base right now (and for good reason). Between Cruz and Trump (both of whom supported building the border wall and re-negotiating current trade law as well as protecting manufacturing jobs here in America) that makes up the vast majority of the Republican party. So establishment types like Ryan better get in line - or they will likely be steamrolled.

As to how he will accomplish these things like building a border wall? Well...

Trump has managed the building of skyscrapers. So I think he can manage a wall. I'll never understand why some liberal democrats believe building a wall is so difficult. It's only something we've been doing since the dawn of human existence.

You think he'll build a wall? How long will this wall be? Where will it be built? How will it be paid for? Will Congress authorize it?
