Paul Pelosi DUI arrest: Napa County DA's office refuses to release body cam footage during investigation

The Napa County District Attorney’s Office decided it will not release any dash or body camera footage from Paul Pelosi’s DUI arrest right now because it could "jeopardize" the ongoing investigation, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

"The Public Records Unit (PRU) has determined the Department possesses records responsive to your request," CHP told Fox News Digital in a letter in a response to a California Public Records Act request last week.

"However, the Napa County District Attorney’s Office has advised the release of records would jeopardize an ongoing investigation. As such, records are being withheld pursuant to Government Code section 6254 (f)."

Pelosi, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, was arrested in California for DUI on May 29. No decision has been made on whether he will face criminal charges.

Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley announced Thursday that Pelosi agreed to a court date of Aug. 3 at 8:30 a.m. in Napa County Superior Court.

If criminal charges are filed, he will be arraigned at that time.

The 82-year-old was booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections, cited and released.

So they won't release the video because it could embarrass Nancy Pelosi. And WTF why is this 82 year old lush behind the wheel anyway? So the public gets no video. Can we say the fix is in. I predict a very minor sentence. Drunk drivers kill.
 
Old people's reaction times reduce with age. An 82 year old does not need to be driving with alcohol in his blood. Nancy Pelosi is trying to bury this. Can you say Democrat politically connected rich white privilege. The fix is in.

So many Republicans have been caught getting special treatment. South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg actually hit and killed a person while drunk, and was loaned a car to drive home afterwards. Meanwhile, a Democrat's husband was actually booked, with no sign of special treatment being asked for or given.

Something embarrassing must have occurred during the arrest or there wouldn't be so much effort put into hiding the video of it. My guess is he tried to play the "Nancy is my wife, you can't arrest me" card. He may have gotten away with this previously but not with this particular cop.

Cops say the local DA won't let then release the video. She says doing so would compromise the investigation which begs the question, what investigation? Either she's lying or Mr Nancy did something besides drunk driving. Offered a bribe maybe?

The spouse of the Speaker of the House was arrested for drunk driving and the video is being suppressed.

You have no clue as to special treatment, they are repressing the body cam video.

Do you suppose that in the video, he was telling the arresting officer that he was the spouse of the Speaker and making threats to the officer’s career?

Usually arrest videos are not made public. There are exceptions, but they are rarer than you would think.

But yes, something embarrassing happened while being arrested; he was arrested. How did you miss that? It is in the statement.

Can you prove that? You would need to prove first that all other videos get released, and that a video was taken. You have done neither, yet. Good luck with that.

If s cop shoots a black man resisting arrest the video is made public as liberals demand it be immediately publicized. Now with Nancy's husband it's crickets from the left.

It can take years to get access to the video, and even then sometimes it just is not released. But the bigger difference is that the arrestee is requesting the video, in this case the arrestee has no interest in getting the video.
