Paul Di'Anno dies at 66

I played Maiden at least 3 times a day when their first album came out. For some reason I can't post it so this will have to do.

I was looking for this song this morning to post on JPP and a message came up saying Paul Di'Anno was dead, so I quickly went to Google that showed his upcoming tour dates but had nothing about his death.

Their eponymous album and Killers featuring him were a good albums. Sort of a cross between metal and punk.

I grew up in the clubs with punk so I like Di'Anno for his stage presence, but mostly his voice on power ballads, and was disappointed when he was sacked for Dickinson.

It's a strange world to be looking for an early Di'Anno video on the day he died.

Bruce Dickenson is a better singer, and Paul Di'Anno by his own admission was party animal who drank too much, and would have done damage to Iron Maiden's longevity and viability to perform physically-demanding live tours for four decades.

I know that now but as a kid I preferred Di'Anno and was pissed that Maiden replaced him. When punk first came out it was dangerous to have long hair, especially up front in the mosh pit. Back then guys would dive off the stage and knock people over like bowling pins.
