I grew up in the clubs with punk so I like Di'Anno for his stage presence, but mostly his voice on power ballads, and was disappointed when he was sacked for Dickinson.Their eponymous album and Killers featuring him were a good albums. Sort of a cross between metal and punk.
Bruce Dickenson is a better singer, and Paul Di'Anno by his own admission was party animal who drank too much, and would have done damage to Iron Maiden's longevity and viability to perform physically-demanding live tours for four decades.I grew up in the clubs with punk so I like Di'Anno for his stage presence, but mostly his voice on power ballads, and was disappointed when he was sacked for Dickinson.
It's a strange world to be looking for an early Di'Anno video on the day he died.
I know that now but as a kid I preferred Di'Anno and was pissed that Maiden replaced him. When punk first came out it was dangerous to have long hair, especially up front in the mosh pit. Back then guys would dive off the stage and knock people over like bowling pins.Bruce Dickenson is a better singer, and Paul Di'Anno by his own admission was party animal who drank too much, and would have done damage to Iron Maiden's longevity and viability to perform physically-demanding live tours for four decades.
