Do you think he was high or something? He tried to relate a story he watched last night but he left the world thinking he was trying to tell them there was something that happened last night. The context he was speaking was about keeping our borders safe, which most people take as fighting terrorism.

I don't know how you can put up with such incompetence. He can't get his thoughts across when speaking. It's a really big hindrance to the job, IMO. Call me crazy... Go with that.

Trump doesn't know for a fact that 3-5 million illegals voted. By stating that they did vote, he is telling a lie. If he wants to speculate, that's fine, and it should be investigated, but he much prefers to tell lies.

Thats because Trump is incredibly undisciplined. Most Presidents understand that holding together a ruling coalition is a very tenuous matter when you're head of State. Most Presidents understand that public statements are frought with danger and a comment that pleases one constituent can alienate another. This is why most Presidents make few public comments unless they need to inform the public on important matters. Even then they are very careful of the words and language they use.

Trumps constant public comments and inability to stay on message or even make informed comments are undisciplined and the sign of a political neophyte.

Logic isn't your friend on this. Logic dictates that facts are a [logical] necessity for lie-telling. For example, if I tell you 'X happened the other day' I can only being lying if I *know for a fact* X didn't happen yesterday.

Assuming X did not occur yesterday, logically, the door is wide open for me to be misinformed.

You can't invoke logic and then turn right around and violate it. Or people who understand logic are going to call you on it.

But I get what you're saying. Trump is lying in a colloquial sense and if people want to say so, that's fine. But how about we apply the same, semi-logical standard, to the media---who 'lies' about Trump constantly.

It's all I ask, since logic is the first cousin of fairness.

Try reading this treatise on bullshit. It discusses the difference between a liar and a bullshitter.

I assume the Swedes aren't really different from us in at least one sense: when someone says 'Sweden interpreted it the same way' what that really means is the Swedish government---which had the amazingly brilliant idea to allow hordes of immigrants from backwards nations into their country.
