I haven't seen a single one of you numbnuts comment on the people that actually engaged in or authorized the torture activities that you think that Nancy should have single-handedly stopped through her magical powers to do whatever it takes to stop the CIA from torturing people notwithstanding the fact that the CIA had authorization from the chief law enforcement officer of the country. Nor have you turned your ire towards the members of the majority party in Congress that, you know, actually had the power to hold hearings and the like. But, I suppose I'm nitpicking.

1) As I pointed out to you earlier, Pelosi is saying the same thing now about what she knew when that she was saying back in December 2007:

"On one occasion, in the fall of 2002, I was briefed on interrogation techniques the Administration was considering using in the future. The Administration advised that legal counsel for the both the CIA and the Department of Justice had concluded that the techniques were legal.

"I had no further briefings on the techniques. Several months later, my successor as Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee, Jane Harman, was briefed more extensively and advised the techniques had in fact been employed. It was my understanding at that time that Congresswoman Harman filed a letter in early 2003 to the CIA to protest the use of such techniques, a protest with which I concurred."

That's the original letter from Panetta containing the list that got this whoel affair started. The CIA won't vouch for its accuracy, instead telling Reyes that he will have to believe whatever he wants to believe.

And then there's this from Panetta today:

As the Agency indicated previously in response to Congressional inquiries, our contemporaneous records from September 2002 indicate that CIA officers briefed truthfully on the interrogation of Abu Zubaydah, describing "the enhanced techniques that had been employed." Ultimately, it is up to Congress to evaluate all the evidence and reach its own conclusions about what happened.

And Pelosi has requested that transcripts be released of any briefings she has received and is pressing for a Truth Commission.

The paragraph within the article doesn't agree with the headline. It specifically said there was no record waterboarding was included in the breifing. Headlines are composed by a copywriter supposedly extracted from the content, it is not self evident in this case, it is what you WANT to believe.

I'm not joking at all, I am 100% serious. I would much rather a few Arabs die than thousands of Americans. That said, water boarding doesn't kill anyone. It is a relatively harmless way of obtaining information.

She was complicit in the actions of the Bush administration and now she is trying to spin her way out of it.

I dont belive we know who is right and who is wrong in this situation. But I have not heard the CIA outright say they informed Pelosi about waterboarding (tourture). I have heard Pelosi say they did not.

Conservatives are on real shakey ground here.... They are the ones who condoned the waterboarding in the first place!
