Palin says voters too stupid to vote for her

While a bit odd, ranked choice has merit. It doesn't typically bode well for third party candidates, but it adds another layer to the election to assure that the winner has the confidence of the majority of the electorate. It keeps third party candidates from handing the election to a somewhat unpopular candidate.

It prevents split-party votes. If we had ranked voting in 1992, Bush would have won. If we had it in 2000, Gore would have won. If we had it in 2016, I suspect Hillary would have won.

This is an example of the GOP believing that they're the chosen ones, and that there's no need for them to win elections, and this is exactly what fascist dictators think.

Republican Party

Advanced to general election in November

Nick Begich III, Alaska Policy Forum board member, grandson of former U.S. Representative Nick Begich, and nephew of former U.S.
Senator Mark Begich and Alaska Senate Minority Leader Tom Begich[7][15]

Sarah Palin, former Governor of Alaska (2006–2009) and nominee for Vice President of the United States in 2008[7][16]

Should, by some miracle, she wins, it would only be a matter of time until she resigns for greener pastures.

A good portion of them. I'm not sure the politicians actually believe it, but it's definitely a political ploy to get voters to believe it.

First, a quibble: the GOP is dead. After Newt, it began bleeding from a thousand cuts, but the election of Trump with the support of his fans killed the last of the Grand Old Party and its values. No more personal accountability. No more individual rights. No more State's Rights. Now it's all about Federalist Authoritarianism; One Party, One Leader.

Second, agreed on "the chosen ones" since Trump said it himself several times and continues to say it to the applause of the Pedo Party.

For anyone interested in Trump's colors, yes, they were chosen for a reason:

She has never been either bright or mentally stable. Anyone who says that God told them to run for office is missing a few shingles.

Informing the voters that they were too stupid to figure out how to vote for her is not a way to endear them and get them to vote for you next time. I'm surprised that she hasn't claimed that there was fraud, the election was rigged, and other pet phrases of the #TangerineToddler who endorsed her dumb ass.

Most of her brains are in her bra. Jus' sayin'

She'll go match brains with Trump in Mar-a-Lago to plan for the future take over.

Well said. When they lose, it's either because of cheating or the voters are "too stupid" or "brainwashed." It's never because they're shitty candidates that were not chosen.

Of course. She'll find a way to weasel out of it by blaming others, wait for it.

She refused to live in the governor's home in Juneau; think she'll be content to live in whatever quarters in DC the reps stay in?

Of course, although she will always be a 2nd class citizen in any TrumpWorld scenario.

I suspect that when your state only has one congressional rep., you want someone who actually gives a shit about your state, its industries, its issues, and who can make your state look good. $arah fits none of those.

It'll be up to Alaskans in November....until Trump tries to steal that election too. LOL

I hate to say it, but there were some Alaskans other than Palin who had trouble understanding that "rank voting primary" thing.

But she lost, fair and square.

Counting those ballots is the hardest part. The winner has to win a majority of votes from those who ranked more than one candidate.

But Palin just ran a poor campaign. She attacked the other Republican in the race when she needed his supporters to rank her second. She spent more time outside the state fundraising than campaigning in Alaska. She started the campaign with a negative rating. People are still mad when she abruptly resigned as governor 18 months before her term ended.

And then she was on the losing presidential ticket. No one likes a loser. That's one reason Beto's going to have a uphill climb running for gov in TX - even against Abbott. Beto lost to Ted Fucking Cruz! Beto has no political instincts.

Why do you bother promoting a lie on a tiny obscure message board?

It was a new voting system, and more than 10,000 voters did not fill in a second choice. And that was just for Begich voters. The vote margin was just 6,000.

BTW, Palin is still good friends with her moderate democrat opponent.

The same three candidates, using the same system, in an election held two and a half months later. It will probably go the same way, with the possible caveat that the turnout will probably be higher. Higher turnout will mean more moderates, and moderates generally do not like Palin.

There is a bit of a chance that Begich could win in November, but I doubt Palin will. It will probably be Peltola again.

Like I said, whether the system was fully understood by Alaskans or not, all candidates had an equal chance - so Palin lost! Again!

If I'm running against Palin, I'm reminding everyone that she got bored with being the governor (arguably the most powerful position in any state) after 2 years, and quit.

And then she lost the presidency for the effort. She's a quitter and a loser. Not a great track record while running for office.

Palin called ranked voting a "new, crazy, convoluted, confusing" system. She claimed that "almost all Alaskans" wanted to vote for her, but they were too stupid to figure out that she was their first choice. According to her, Alaskan voters are too stupid to answer questions like, "who is your first choice", and "who is your second choice." She probably thinks "first" and "second" are part of that Common Core Math. She is quite confident that Alaskans love her, but just made a "mistake."

Good news, she will do the exact same thing again in November, hoping that Alaskan voters have learned from their "mistake." She said, "Alaskans know I'm the last one who'll ever retreat. Instead, I'm going to reload. With optimism that Alaskans learn from this voting system mistake and correct it in the next election." Yes, she would never resign half way through her first term as governor... That would be crazy.

trump rarely leaves his hideout, but he was willing to go to Alaska to support Palin. Palin was sure that would make everyone vote for her.

Not as bad as Biden saying ..... "Well I tell you what, If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black."

Beto was a flash in the pan. Running enthusiastically and jumping up on the stage only catches our attention for so long. He has the opposite problem from Pence.

The books being published are an indication of those considering a presidential run--Christie, Yang, Noem, Haley,
