Palin resigns as AK governor

For reasons of her own, and I decline to speculate, Sarah Palin has decided to resign from her position as governor of Alaska, fully one year and change from the end of her term.

The story is a lead on the Yahoo! site, and no doubt will be all over the news elsewhere as well. Presumably this is a strategic move, but it may well rear up to bite her.

A sad day for Alaska, but could be a great start for the United States of America...well see..

God speed Sarah..

"Once I decided not to run for re-election, I also felt that to embrace the conventional Lame Duck status in this particular climate would just be another dose of politics as usual, something I campaigned against and will always oppose," Palin said in a statement released by her office.

"It is my duty to always protect our great state. With that in mind, my family and I determined that it is best to make a difference this summer, and I am willing to change things, so that this administration, with its positive agenda, its accomplishments, and its successful road to an incredible future, can continue without interruption and with great administrative and legislative success," she said.
Interesting. They speculate this is the beginning of a 2012 run.

A duty you have failed at miserably, bitch. Good fucking riddance, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

If Palin's planning to run for President in 2012, it would serve her better to continue as governor and work on bettering her knowledge of the world, since she's such a lightweight in every way.

The way the media and liberal hatemongers harrassed her and her family I hope she stays out of politics....she's just too damned real and honest for the assholes.

Yes, it would. That's what makes this puzzling.

she is just what we are going to need after this administration, because she is real and honest..
I'd like to see her run for President...only time will tell.

I'd like to see her go on a hunting trip with Dick Cheney, only they should use 50 caliber rounds.

I say she's too good for politics meme...but I understand your sentiments and agree that after this admin is finished dismanteling our economy and rebuilding it in such a way as to make Mussolini smile; We'll need real, honest, and real honest hard work.

HAHAHAHA, you crack me up. You are describing Obama to a "T". The only knowledge he has, is how to be a con-artist.

as a half conservative I say this to all my other conservative brothers...

YOU WILL BE FUCKING
»RETARDED« IF YOU HAVE HER RUN IN 2012

Given that this resignation comes on the afternoon of Friday July 3 when no one is paying attention I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop over the weekend. The timing is, well, odd.

Speculating about a 2012 presidential run under the circumstances is extremely silly.

That's what I thought too. I think a 2012 run is unrealistic.

However the resignation doesn't take place until the 26th. It isn't like she isn't going to be asked about it between now and then.
