Palin calls Carrier deal 'crony capitalism'

Well you couldn't be more incorrect.
He already anounced tarrifs
AS LAST RESORT. ( which is what i said)

only for companies that offshore and sellback to the USA.

since his election, his advisers have softened some of his most heated rhetoric. Trump’s picks for treasury secretary, Steven Mnuchin, and commerce secretary, Wilbur Ross, said that they would pursue bilateral trade agreements with other countries but remained wary of sweeping regional deals. Ross also said that blanket double-digit tariffs on goods from Mexico and China — which many economists warned could spark a damaging trade war — would only be used as a last resort.

But Trump’s comments Sunday indicate that he is not backing away from one key pledge: to punish companies that offshore jobs.

"If we lived in a perfect world Palin would be right." #23
No insult to god intended, but just to complete the syllogism:

If we lived in an imperfect world Palin would be right.

When it comes to crony capitalism were you a fan of the auto bailout, solandra and the Ex-Im bank?

The only one of these I actually followed was the auto bailout and I didn't have a strong opinion about it. But personally I think saving 1.5 million jobs was more important than saving 1000 jobs.

So crony capitalism is ok based on the numbers then?

If the UAW would have agreed to renegotiate their contract wages and benefits so the company could make a profit instead of driving it into bankruptcy, maybe a taxpayer bailout wouldn't have been necessary....they did eventually agree to the 2 tiered wage system, ie., new hires were hired at 1/2 the wage of the existing workers to do the very same work and with lesser benefits....hope the UAW learned a lesson from the whole thing so it doesn't happen again.....you can't squeeze water out of a rock.

Take notice we haven't heard a peep from the air traffic controllers since the Reagan administration....

STUPID BEYOND ALL IMAGINATION
Yes you are, I agree.

I'm trying to recall my opinion, and think I was more focused on why the bungling corporate heads weren't held accountable. Also at the time the economy was in the toilet. Didn't the auto companies pay back the loans?

I know conservatives hated the auto bailout so why is the Carrier thing okay to them?

Surely it was more complicated than the UAW?
