"Besset is one of those Government guys who's an absolute pleasure to listen to. He never struggles for words, he's articulte and to the point. He knows of which he speaks, and speaks with the authority and confidence that's becoming a hallmark of the Trump Administration.
Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent told “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday that revenue from tariffs would not drop, despite the Supreme Court’s ruling against the authority President Donald Trump’ invoked to levy his “Liberation Day” tariffs.
The high court decided Trump exceeded his powers under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) in a 6-3 ruling issued Friday. Bartiromo questioned Bessent about claims made Friday by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget that the deficit would increase due to the loss of revenue."
Bessent lies. He does speak well. He is smooth, pure elitist.

It appears that way because you're seeing a lot of the negotiation process in real time. Trump is, after all, the most transparent President ever.

See above. That was all a part of the negotiation process. Start really high, then come down from there.

Exactly. It isn't much of a cost to eat, so they just take a slightly lower profit margin instead of passing that cost onto consumers.

Is the sky falling, Chicken Little?

... except for all the ones that already are. I remember hearing that some Canadian companies are moving down here, for example.

No, that's exactly what the companies who are paying the tariffs are doing. Consumers really aren't paying any more than they did before.

:blah:
Yes a lot of companies will eat some of Trump's tariffs until it starts hurting their bottom line then they will start passing them on and that is what we are start seeing now.
