OT: Tiger!

You've never done either have you? We aint talking about going around the block on your kids Huffy. Were talking about doing 50 miles in less than 2.5 hours on hilly terrain. You're average Golfer would heave his martini after the first mile!

So would your average football player....or baseball player for that matter...so what's your point?

***Please note that I ask the above question rhetorically since I have read through all of the posts on this thread and can see your point clearly***

:)

Done both. I bike every day (just about to head out, actually) - I do about 20 miles, but I have done 50+ as well. And I live in the mountains.

I golf, too. I wouldn't differentiate much between the 2; there is different physicality involved, but to characterize one as a pussy sport and the other as uber-manly is ridiculous.

I thought you were talking about rugby or something like that before....

Since the thread has been officially hijacked I'll add a little more. I thought it funny that canoeing and cycling were mentioned as "manly" sports too. Indeed both require a different type of physical ability, hand/eye coordination, etc. but so do a lot of so-called sports. Woud you characterize table tennis as a sport? For that matter, what about tennis itself? Swimming? Oh, and how about those Lacrosse players, are they athletes? I know you're just ranting Mott, but inquiring minds want to know. ;)

I can't agree with you there. Aerobic conditionting is very rigorous in fooball. If you want to be competative in bball you'd better be pretty fit and a good runner too.

Yes, to all of the above. Besides, I never said that cycling or canoeing were uber manly....I just said the truth. Golf is a pussy sport.

Besides, I never said that....canoeing [was] uber manly....

Clearly, you Midwestern flat-landers have never done any whitewater canoeing.

Sucks to live in the flat-as-a-pancake flyover states!

Nay, friend Cypress, I have done the above many times. I'm just a hop, skip and jump from CO and we love to go there. Just don't think that doing that is any more manly than golf. Don't think of it as a necessarily a man's sport as I see lots of women packing canoes with their husbands on some pretty rough trips. Fun stuff....yes.....More manly than golf...not necessarily. :)

Well said! i was just screwing around...the whole running canoes off of waterfalls = not manly. Just stupid! I knew these dudes who went to Mexico, to run their kayaks off these awesome but deadly waterfalls.....Hello???!! Darwin Awards!!

Well I wasn't saying it wasn't uber manly. I was just saying it's a real mans sport where as golf is a pussy sport. Great examples though!

Where Mott lives isn't so much a state as much as it is a human waste dump filled with people who browse the family reunion looking for a cousin they haven't fucked yet. :)
